It’s September now, and the last of the sunny days in Vancouver are here. It’s a weird feeling, to be excited for fall and cool breezes and cloudy days. Especially when you realize summer actually isn’t officially over, but how quickly one is willing to forget how amazing the everlasting sunny afternoons have become. The switch in seasons gets one overjoyed on sweaters, layers, and feeling cozy. But what about the fact that it will be grey for the next 6 months? Let’s relish in the longer days and warmer nights, and the fact that I, as someone living in Vancouver, needs to get outside and seize the opportunity to get all of the natural vitamin d shining down.
PS. I just learnt that you should always eat tons of greens before hitting the sunshine. Why? Greens are high in chlorophyll (you know, photosynthesis and such), which ultimately regenerate to Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) with the light. Mind blown. You can actually create your very own antioxidant super easily, one that protects the body from damage and creates new cells! Greens and then some raspberries for dessert – so that you get regeneration and some sun protection.
